Central Government has created a £1.57 billion rescue package for cultural and heritage organisations across the country to assist with the impact of COVID-19 has had on the sector.
The money represents the biggest ever one-off investment in UK culture and aims to provide a lifeline to cultural and heritage organisations affected by the pandemic.
Who is eligible?
Both public and private sector organisations in the following areas can apply:
- the performing arts
- heritage sites
- historic places
- live music venues
- independent cinemas
Those applying must be registered with Companies House and/or Charity Commission, and able to produce at least one year’s full independently certified or audited financial statements.
Universities and other public sector bodies which run or maintain cultural services also can apply.
The first round of applications is now open and closes at 12pm on the 21st August 2020.
A second round of applications will begin at 4pm on the 21st August 2020 and will close at 12pm on the 4th September 2020.

Applications must be made via the Arts Council England Grantium system. Before you start an application you will need to create a user account and applicant profile.
